Adding 'verb to a Tweed Bassman

Hi All,
I've just been talking to a friend about adding 'verb to a Tweed Bassman. Has anyone tried this? How'd ya do it? I can think of a couple ways to do it; there's a mod on hoffmanamps.com that adds a tube to the preamp section, there's a section in TUT3 about adding it to an AC30 by bringing it into the Schmidt splitter. Anyone got any pros/cons to these methods? Or does anyone know a better/different way to keep a "stock/classic" Tweed Bassman tone and add 'verb? I'm sure this has come up before. Any references to what others have done? Also, are there any issues to adding a tube to a Tweed Bassman chassis, maybe between V2&3? Is heat a big problem?

Nice to see you still kicking. I tried the Hoffman 'adding reverb to the Western Electric Circuit' thing & didn't like the constant fussing with the reverb knob based upon changes in the volume of the amp. Seems every time you adjust the volume knob, even incrementally, you have to adjust the reverb.

I've also looked at the Tut 3 & even installed it on a 'lightning' but I couldn't get the amp to sound right with it in there so I took it back out. I'm sure there is something out there but, from my experiences, I'm sticking to dry with effects after....although, as I posted elsewhere recently, I hear those holy grail reverbs are pretty nice.

Thanx for the suggestions! I found a thing at the Weber website called an "Add-a-Verb", like a Fender standalone verb designed to mount inside a combo cab. Anybody heard/built one of these? I'm thinkin' it might be cool patched into a simple passive FX loop, that'd be easy enough to add to a Bassman. Whaddaya think?

Ace, if it's cheap enough, why not try it? But i think i've heard one person complaining about this one lately. Myself, i think i'd try a Hoffman revibe in there :D

I've added a tube reverb to a couple of amps. I just use the basic BF fender circuit like AB763/864 and put it into a small aluminum box and hang it inside the sidewall of the amp cabinet.

This particular application is on a Gibson GA15 combo (circa 1957) and it works beautifly.
