Are our politicians criminal conspirators, or do they watch out for our interests?

Is offshoring labor to India and China good for us, or is it going to bankrupt us?

Did God make man in his image...or did man make God in his?:compress:
This is a hotly contested issue through the ages. I for one believe in an all-powerful God and the story of creation. there are too many things in this universe that the evolutionary theory can't explain to my satisfaction.
Is gay marriage right or wrong?
I say let them do it, but don't call it marriage. come up with another word for it.
Are illegal immigrants criminals and bad for the economy, or welcome cheap labor and good for it?
illegal immigrants are criminals. that's why they're called 'illegal'. if they followed the proper procedure to get into *my* country, I would have no problem with them.
Are our politicians criminal conspirators, or do they watch out for our interests?
Politicians are all crooks. it is only a matter of time and money. everyone has his price.
Is big oil to blame for high gas prices, or are we for wasting so much?
the EPA is to blame for high gas prices. the process for licensing new drilling and refining takes too long and is too expensive.
Is offshoring labor to India and China good for us, or is it going to bankrupt us?
offshoring labor to a country that doesn't care about its people is an insult to the founding fathers of the US. china cares more about military strength than it does about the welfare of its citizens. and sending customer service departments over to india does the customer a disservice. not only can you not understand a single word they say, but when you can understand them, they don't know how to help you.
Do we really NEED all that Chinese-made junk, or are we just addicted?
we are definitely addicted. somebody needs to take the initiative and start a US based consumer electronics company.
Are guns good, or bad?:fire:
Guns are good.
Is our economy run by tangible and accountable production factors, or are we just in a big pyramid scheme?
the strength of the economy in any country is largely based on the perception the people have of what their money is worth. following the september 11 attacks, the economy went south mainly because all the so-called experts said it would.
Are athletes, entertainers and CEOs paid way too much, or does capitalism mean for wealth to be concentrated to those who actually produce the least useful services and product?
there is no reason in the world why a guy who runs around a basketball court for an hour needs $5million a year. and as far as CEO's go, nobody has a more difficult job than the president of the US. therefore, nobody deserves to make more money than him. if you can get it, fine, but why anyone *needs* to make more than $400k/year is way beyond my comprehension.
Why do birds suddenly appear, everytime Bush is near?
dude, I have no idea what you meant by that one.
So many questions, so few that matter.

there are too many things in this universe that the evolutionary theory can't explain to my satisfaction.
Indeed, but evolution only tries to explain ONE thing. The theory of evolution has absolutely nothing to say about anything else.
everyone has his price.
REally? What is your mother's price?
the economy went south mainly because all the so-called experts said it would.
Oh baloney. Air travel was suspended, interrupting huge segments of our commerce. Then the public was very leery of air travel for a long time afterwards. That is just one industry devastated by 9/11. People feared war and other repercussions, so it affected their investments and their activities, not to mention their spending on goods and services. None of that was due to experts proclaiming it.
somebody needs to take the initiative and start a US based consumer electronics company.
You realize of course that all the "American" consumer electronics companies could not compete in the world market. What makes you think that now today they would magically thrive? Do you honestly believe the American people will spend three times as much for a DVD player because it was made here?
Did you ever buy grapes at the grocery store in the middle of winter? They came from CHile. They only cost you $1.49 a pound. Would you buy winter grapes if they cost $7.99 a pound just so you could have them from an AMerican hot house? No one would buy those grapes, we wouldn't be saving any jobs to speak of.
there is no reason in the world why a guy who runs around a basketball court for an hour needs $5million a year. and as far as CEO's go, nobody has a more difficult job than the president of the US. therefore, nobody deserves to make more money than him. if you can get it, fine, but why anyone *needs* to make more than $400k/year is way beyond my comprehension.
Well, you have pretty neatly summed up the philosophy of Communism.
When a basketball team takes in $200 million, is there some reason you feel the team stockholders should take all the money and the players who generate that money should get only a tiny share? It isn't about the amount. Is it unreasonable that the ten players get $100 million and the stockholders get the other $100 million?
If I am the best player in the world, I expect world class compensation. If you look at it as just a job, then take your $400k and go, but a savvy pro athlete can parlay his income into other businesses, for example Magic Johnson has invested his millions into inner city businesses, and jobs/careers for young ghetto kids who otherwise would be left out. No $10 million dollar paycheck for Magic, no new industries in the inner cities there.
No one "needs" an Olympic gold medal either. But it is a symbol of success.
Ah fooey, I am tired of trying to refute sophomoric drivel.

Jay asked where everyone was....nobody answered. I just figured I'd throw some things against the wall and see what sticks:) It was a pre-coffee, early in the morning kinda thing.

The EPA doesn't raise gas prices. It is partially due to the fact that the oil companies shut down a number of gas refineries in the nineties that WERE PASSING EPA regulations. The fact big oil is in the white house may have something to do with it, also. There must be a God, but evolution is scientific fact.Unless of course the liberal media is inventing dinosaurs and cavemen. This president takes more vacations than any one before him , I believe.Tough job.Blame the liberal media, though, everyone does.
