hey after removing the negative feedback loop i got to be missing it so i added a switch and 2meg hi wattage pot thing is middle sounds like no loop clear up sounds a mite squeaky clean for my tastes tube wise and full off on the pot produces the most nasty crazy fuzz tone when i push it hard im think ing of using this setting in the studio but is this hurting my amp or what is being sacrificed should i bleed to ground or just break the circut like im doing btw when the toggle is off it sounds fantastic

Shouldn't hurt a thing. Vox runs amps without any negative feedback......

It's just a tone choice!

I've had amps that can motorboat or oscillate without the appropriate NFB components, but obviuosly that isn't happening with yours - so enjoy!

Try moving the leads that operate the variable feedback control as far from the preamp as possible. You probably have some parasitics happening. Also, Use a fixed resistor in line with the pot so you can't dial in 100% NFB. Just go with the stock NFB resistor value. Then any rotation of the pot puts you further from the stock point of operation but you can't dial it down for more NFB than stock.
