Well I ran across a decent 4x12 laney cab in a pawn and its got the H&H invader series speakers in it. The cab seems kinda small for a 4x12 its a M/GS 4x12 model and the owner only wants $175.00 but I never used or tried laney cabs and wanted to ask if you all think this is a good deal?
Thanks

I have a 2x12 Laney cab with the HH speakers in it. The cab is well built, and the speakers aren't bad at all. I bought it because I liked the size - a 4/12 is a bit much to tote around to smaller clubs. I got it cheap, and figured I'd replace the speakers if need be. Turned out, for heavier distorted tones, I like them better than the greenbacks in my vintage 4x12 Marshall cab.
But then again, my favorite speaker for distorted tones is the much-maligned Celestion G12M-70. So, take my opinion for what it's worth.

Hey KB,
I also like the G12-M70 as I have one in a 1x12 Marshall combo and it sounds damn good. Really good rock tones.
The Laney 4x12 is actually a bit smaller than the Marshall 4x12, The Laney is 28" x 28"x 14" deep so it isn't so hard to carry. I always liked the 4x12 sound but darn Marshall cabs are so heavy and bulky to carry. I figure this would be much easier to carry and the price seems good too.
Thanks for the info

It's all Horses for Courses really don't you think?
Yeah it doesn't look as chunky and heavy as a Marshall, but I think they sound damm good if fed from a Laney or a Marshall head and the transport castor wheels will probably survive for longer.

Hey Pete,
How is the music scene there in England these days? Is the hard rock still the main music or did England go rap too?
Cheers
