Problem;

When turned on the amp blows the fuse

the fuses that are being used are 3.15 amp fuses, i have just started troubleshooting it, using a ohm reader to try to find broken pathways or capacitors and resistors, so far nothing. has anyone eles had this problem and if so how did it get resolved.

When amps blow fuses, it is usually the output devices that are shorted. Next on the list are the rectifiers in the power supply. Then way down the list is shorted filter cap. Other things to consider are loose hardware sitting on the circuit board.

Start by looking for shorted power transistors on the heat sink.

since last night i have done more inspecting, and i have found on the fan/heat sink unit of the amp, attached via glue and a screw a chip unit with a few transistors and resistors. 1 of the transistors has no response via the multimetre, as well the chip looks alittle burnt.

came to find out the capacitor was working, tho the chip is still burnt alittle, across 2 pathways in 2 various spots.
