The title says it all, please.
It has a master volume control and someone has messed around with it and it doesn't work. I guess I could rewire it the 'standard' way, but that doesn't look like the way the original wiring was.

This is the only part I need the schem for. One end of the pot goes to ground and that seems correct, but the viper goes to the negative side of a 4.7uF/350volt electrolytic cap and the other end of the pot is free, but it has some solder scraps on this lug.

None of the schems for Sound City amps I have found on the net have a master volume.

It looks quite impressive with it's six EL34, btw.

As far as I'm aware, none of the Sound City amps had a master volume at all.

My L-120 doesn't, at any rate. It needs one, but doesn't have one.

They are quite impressive, as you say. Should be classified as a Weapon of Mass Destruction, really.

Well, the L150 has a master, at least on the version I was working on.
It is now fixed, anyway.

You learn something every day :)

I'll keep my eyes open, see if there is a MV on other L150s.

How's it sound now? My 120 is like the Death Star's baby brother (or was until I gutted it for rebuild). I'm not 100% sure if I've ever heard a 150?

Well, I repaired and biased it. To be honest, I don't crank every amp I try to repair otherwise I would run in to problems with my neighbours :)

I think you'd upset everyone for half a mile if you cranked that baby for more than a few minutes. :D

Thank you for the link.
Still no L150 schem there... It is different than the B150.
None of the Sound Cities on the web has a master volume, and the few of them with presence control, this part is wired different than the DMI L150 I had on the bench.

No problem now, it is working.

I bet you're right. With the volume controls at 2 - 3, I couldn't open the master completely because it was getting loud enough to feel the amp's response.

No problem now, it is working. Have you checked the 120 tour series? It has teh master and should be exactly the same as the L150 (IIRC it's the same amp realy)

Yes, very close, but still not the same amp. The presence and master circuit is not the same.

No problem. Maybe one day we will find the correct circuit diagram ;)
