Hi there you good ampagers
Happy New Year from the Southern Hemisphere Summer!
Well now I'm back from holidaying with the kids I've got most of the bits I need now to begin my champ build, including two new trannys on the way, but I was wanting a template or dimensions for the chassis (which you just can't buy in NZ).
I am contemplating bending up a chassis from 1.5mm Aluminium sheet. I've got all the tools I need to attempt this.
Anyone got a pattern or dimenions for the classic chassis please?

Thanks Bruce - Weber didn't have any in stock (of at least their website says they don't have any in stock)
What's the deal with the brass grounding plate in their chassis kits? (i.e. why do you need one?)

Actually I guess its there because their chassis is steel, come to think of it.:o

heres a link to webers 5f1 drawing, im sure its the same chassis as the 5f2. do you have cad software? i could send you an autocad drawing and or a 3d model if you like.

http://www.webervst.com/5f1.gifThe 5F1 is not the same chassis as a 5F2A... here is a 5F2 from Weber VST

Thanks Bruce.
Mighty helpful.
Just a couple of further questions if I may.
I presume the brass grounding plate that they do goes behind the input and control knobs only? (Please correct me if I'm wrong)
and
How far apart should I mount the output tranny from the power tranny? (The location of the output socket is probably a guide - but it is hard to tell from the number of holes on the back panel of this pattern. I suppose I don't want the OT right next to the input jacks, but obviously not right next to the PT either?)
Cheers

Hi Scole
I don't have CAD software on my mac unfortunately.
I am however curious to know what part of the Weber site you picked that link from (in case they have one for a 5F2). Bruce's pic only has some of the dimensions on it (although its probably enough to keep me going)
Cheers

i actually went on to the weber forum and asked for the drawing. weber is very good with info. now if you use the link i sposted, you can just change the amp letters and a drawing will come up. for example change www.webervst.com/5f1 to www.webervst.com/5e3 or www.webervst.com/5f6 and see what happens.
