Hi,
My first attempt in this forum...

I've built Jack Ormans Mini-Booster on the org. supplied circ. board, and I can't make it work. It's a very simple DIY so I'm very frustrated. I've built a couple of amps, modded more and also built and modded quite a few effects. So, I'm not completely hopeless.

I measured Q1 and Q2 using a 9,4 V battery:
Q1: D=4,3 V, S=0V, G=0V
Q2: D=9,2V, S=4,3V, G=4,4V

I suppose I've done some stupid mistake - but WHAT???
The only difference from the original is that I used tantal caps on C3 and C4 (observing polarity).

Any input is VERY appreciated! :o

NEVER underestimate the number of ways there are to get the pinout of a FET wrong. Depending on the FET used, sometimes the pinout for the same ostensible part number will vary by manufacturer. Constantly exasperating. If it were as easy to test out a FET as it is to test a bipolar tranny with the typical $20 DMM, life would be a breeze. Unfortunately, it isn't quite that easy.

My suggestion is to gather all relevant PDF datasheets for the parts in question, and especially those with a nice 3-d drawing of the pins.
