Randall has some time ago introduced these “Valve-Dynamic” hybrid amplifiers that, according to their marketing bulletins, employ a tube that drives a MOSFET output stage. Supposedly these hybrids also replicate the frequency response of typical tube amplifiers.

I’m pretty interested in seeing how they have realized this on the circuit level. It’s likely just a variation of Ampeg’s SVT Pro circuit with the twist of some additional current feedback but you never can be sure until you’ve seen it in black and white.

Does anyone have schematics of any of the G3 series of amplifiers or alternatively the schematics of V2 / T2?

Did you contact Randall?

No, I haven’t contacted them. I’m not keen of making a long-distance call and I think they would not email me the schematic since I don’t actually own any of their amps nor am I a tech that would repair them. I also have an impression that U.S. Music Corp is a bit secretive about these things.

Well, why not send an email? Worst that can happen is they ignore you. They don't know if you have one or not. They don't know if you are a repair tech or not. Some companies are surprisingly helpful when you least expect it. What is there to lose in trying? It only will cost an e-stamp.

I know that bumping threads is a bit impolite but it has been a while since this one was up and I thought that maybe things have changed since then. Let it be mentioned that - like I was advised to do - I contacted Randall by email. However, that was dead end: They didn’t reply.

So, if anyone has any of the aforementioned schematics I am still interested in seeing an example of that hybrid circuit.

Thats strange that they didn't get back with you.....they send me schematics I need usually within a few hours.

slightly off topic, but I've found Laney to be very helpfull in this respect - they sent me their current Lionheart range schematics without any fuss at all.

learn to be 'liberal' with the truth. say you've got a G3 in for repair and need a schematic.
