I have a SS Maestro Echoplex for sale. It's in good to excellent condition. I just don't use it any more (I have quite a few other echos). I'm hoping to get $400 for it. I'll Ebay it fairly soon, unless I get a buyer sooner.

An Ampager has made an offer on this Echoplex. It looks like it is sold.

I have owned three Echoplexes in my life, from 1975 until now. I had two tube units and the most recent, this SS one. Even when working, the SS one sounded better than the tube units. Who knew?

I've had a few other echos. I had an excellent Multivox (with three selectable heads and tape speed), that little cartridge Univox (as EVH used to use), and a Hohner. Today I only have the Hohner, a tube Echoplex (which I'm keeping for now) and the SS Echoplex which will be sold in the next week.

The Hohner uses an old Sony answering machine "endless tape" cartridge. It has 3 selectable heads. I plan on modding this unit. It has no headroom and the delays could be longer. I will replace the straight signal path with a higher headroom and frequency response circuit, add companding to the echo path and add a speed control to the motor.

I also have a Roland Echo Machine that can be switched to chorus. The chorus has only an intensity control, and uses the same square wave as the original CE-1 floor unit. This echo is analog and has a maximum delay of 400 ms. The face is about 3" high by about 10" wide and the box is about 4" deep. I may sell this unit also.
