I put a bright switch in my amp as in the AB763 Deluxe Reverb's vibrato
channel. This is a 47pf cap between the wipers of the volume and treble
controls. My volume, bass and treble work well but the bright switch,
which looks to be wired properly, has no effect on the tone that I can tell.

I've never heard a Fender bright switch in action. How pronounced a change
does in make to the tone ?

Paul PThe cap used in the Fender amps with a switch is actually 100 pF not 47pF and quite obvious with it in and out.
Still, you should be able to hear a difference with a 47pF cap, ...especially if you just listen to the amp with the treble up a bit, with and with out the cap in... at the same time you are sliding your fingers on the wire wound strings, you know, up and down the neck.

I just noticed that this bright circuit should have more effect the lower the
volume setting since the cap is shorted out at maximum volume. This is
probably why I didn't hear much difference.
