Okay so I saw this thread today and I got to thinking "Hey that looks kinda pretty".

Has anyone tried this at home? (If that's not too personal?)

Since I can't do engraving or printing, this seems like a way to colour up the amp a bit more.

Or is there a simpler way to colour-up the Aluminium?

I've been planning on printing out my front panel artwork, glue it to something
thin like Formica/Arborite, then put that behind a thin piece of plexiglass.

This does require that the pot and switch bushings be long enough.

Wow,

Amp building meets mad science-----I'm in!

Seems like a lot of trouble, though, when spray paint or spray lacquer works pretty well for most DIY projects.

While working with Bob Swanson on our Dyna-Q amps, we were experimenting with different chassis looks by anodizing in different deep colors and having the artwork laser etched off... it made the raw aluminum underneath stand out with a very flat white looking letters and numbers.
