i have a marshall tsl 2000 100 watt head, and I've been having a really bad problem with it. For some reason, its putting out extremelylow volume, like when my amp is at full volume, the sound is barely audible, you can still hear some sound coming out, and it sounds good, its just lacking completely any presence as far as volume is concerned. I've replaced both the power and all pre amp tubes, as well as all fuses.
PLEASE HELP MEEEE
thanks everyone.

My TSL had similar symptoms. Try plugging a guitar cable into the fx loop in/outs. If this fixes your problem, you just need to clean the jacks, which is a very simple procedure.

Chances are your problem wont be this easy to solve, but its worth a shot.

Use the boards search function for " Marshall Tsl100 " (without quotes)
and you will see quite a few with similar problems.
If you have tried the fx loop test (between pre-amp and power amp)
and that is'nt the cause it could be the DC supply for the first 2 valves
Remove the shield from the first valve and with reduced lighting see if
all the little pre amp valves are glowing.
In some valves the heaters or filaments are hard to see so you may have to leave it on for a while (standby will do ) and see if they all get warm.
There are many replies to this problem already posted in this forum.

yeah ive noticed that the first pre amp tube isnt quite as bright, and im gonna try running my guitar through my effects loops and see if that works. someone suggested i get some pot cleaner from radioshack and try cleaning those, because he figured maybe my master volume was broken
i dont know though, :
Thanks for the replies though!
