Peavey JSX Mini-Collosal.....

Has anyone seen these yet? We had one in for warranty service yesterday.

Basically, it's a glorified Champion 600 with a tone control, tremolo circuit, power attenuator (???), single EL84 CLass A, cheap 8" speaker.....and a $500 PRICE TAG!!!!! :eek:

The amp sounds like a ProCo Rat to me. I don't get the attenuator thing for a 5W amp. What I REALLY don't get is the $500 price tag!!!

Anyone else seen these yet? Opinions???

I've looked over the schematic a few times ,but never seen one. No idea they were getting $500 for them! Also looking at their Valve King Royal 8, similar but without the trem, FX loop, Z selector, attenuator and recording output, while adding the second volume control. They get $200 for that.

Enzo, you could hear my jaw hit the floor all the way to Michigan when I saw the price tag. And that is STREET price!!! Apparently, these things are not heavily discounted and are flying out the door! Why, I do NOT know.

Funny, I was working on a Line 6 DM4 Distortion Modeler today, and one of the patches sounded EXACTLY like the Peavey JSX! Just in case you haven't realized it, I HATE digital modeling or anything that sounds like it.
