are those injection molded?

if so, I'm sure folks would like to know the cost of the tooling, minumum purchase requirements and such... did you have any problems with prototypes from the manufacturer (proper measurments, etc...)?...or did they get it right the first time?

or are they made another way????

Cool!

Gibson used to have clear bobbins on those Bill Lawrence designed guitars.

I like it. You should use fluorescent die and install a small black light under the pickup!

I have a Gibson P-90 from about '89 that has a clear top.

...you could wire up a small circuit to make the under-pickup LED(s) light-up either on (a) signal amplitude or (b) signal timing, or (C) both!

hey Dino...you know we're only jiving you brutha....but it would be nice to hear about your experience in having these bobbins made.

..injection molding using colorerd plastics is no secret...so it's not like you giving away proprietary info. :D

Remember those 1960's color organs? You hooked 'em up to the stereo and they blinked different colors depending on the frequency you were hearing?

That would be cool under these bobbins ;)

Does anyone remember the Rickenbacker "light-show", that worked on the same principle, the body light up like a Christmas tree.

I think them bobbins would look good in a 20th anniversary Jem.

Of yeah! I actually played one of the basses once. It used small night light sized bulbs. It got kind of warm after while. LED's would have worked better... but of course they used what was available at the time.

This is the one I was looking for. Anyway, it's not clear to me here whether or not you had these bobbins made or if something else is going on here. I think they look great from what I can see in the picture. If you did have these made yourself, do you have plans to part some out?
