Will a 6l6 WGB be ok in a 5e7. I beleive they are rated for a little less plate voltage.

Yes I run either 5881 or 6L6 WGB's in mine. They lower the volume a bit and seem to add a litte bit more gain. I just rebaised my amp for them.
