Hi all,
I own a jcm800 solid state 5212 amp.
Volume pot on normal channel worked only all way up, bass pot worked from 2-4, and master volume was scratchy. So I opened it up and discovered all but 2 pots were replaced by some plastic junk ones with random values.
I dont use drive channel on this amp, so i only wanted to fix clean and master
ok, i replaced some pots and it works better but i have trouble with first volume pot on clean channel. I replaced 22k pot with matching one but i still got the same problem, it kicks only at 7-8 to 10, there is a sudden loss of gain and bass freq below that.
Than I put a 10k pot instead and it widened the range but still it works from 5 to 10. Is it possible that even smaller value pot would work better?
also, the gain pot on drive channel ads some weak distortion on clean channel.
what can i do to fix that?
