How much to build one good home studio? What watt amps use in home studio?
What software used in home studio?

I can answer that. For a GOOD home studio, to produce acceptable results and avoid the frustrations of non-working or faulty gear, buy quality products made nearly anywhere except countries who try to foist inferior, poisinous and designed-to-fail-to-bankrupt-the-US products assembled by slave labor with no environmental restrictions...mainly Chinese crap.

      Does that help?

No, because all affordable home studio gear is made in China now, even the likes of Mackie and Focusrite.

          Yeah Steve,

I realize that, but this guy is over the top. They claim to have "fifty University graduated engineers working together to create and develop specialized musical instruments and audio products."

And, not one of his highly trained employees can answer these questions he keeps asking? What classes were THEY taking at the university? Most these questions can be answered by even the greenest home recordists. And, there's something to be said for getting off one's lazy arse, and doing research for yourself, before trying to waste others' time to do his work for him?

They seem like they actually know NOTHING about ANY of this, and they are trying to drum up business?

I wonder if Angus gave them permission to use his likeness on their home page? Their "Support" site consists of Aspen Pittman reprints, and nothing original from all those knowledgeable employees. Do you suppose Aspen agreed to those reprints?

They have no use for copyright or patents, and openly flaunt it.

He's in here asking all these questions trying to obtain free knowledge in the hopes of undercutting the people he's pumping for questions.

I suspect "quality" is on par with the usual Chinese definition of "quality". Make it as cheaply as possible with inferior components and workmanship, bypass stricter regulations that others must follow, steal designs...and sell it to stupid Americans to further imbalance our trade, and send us deeper into debt to them. Too many Chinese products are just plain dangerous, and they are unapologetic.

This whole thing stinks to me.

          Brad1

(PS. Cheap Chinese crap was part of the reason my last employer failed, because they used too much of it, reliability became non-existent and customers got mad. We spent too much on repairs and replacements, including all the shipping/handling/tech-time/paperwork, etc., and it killed us. So, yeah...I have a problem with them killing off American businesses in both taking jobs directly, and indirectly by flooding us with crap.)

heh, nobodys got a degree here anymore. All the brains are in China now(!)

Can't blame the Chinese for being good capitalists. We're the ones who forced it on them in the first place. Look how the system makes us do business: we kill off an entire race of people, enslave part of another to build an infrastructure, and then hold off on entering a second world war until everyones beaten themselves witless, all so we could profit from rebuilding and then restructuring the planet!

Someone's got to get screwed. That's the basic idea of capitalism. The very essence of business! It's inevitable.
"If I can't buy chinese I need to earn more money!"

Argh the China Conundrum!!!! Damn Chinese! At least we pioneered the whole technique. We perfected the whole damn thing. "It's not laissez-faire, but someone's got to get screwed"!

P.S. lets keep this thread goin on about china instead. I really wonder who's rocking out with a guitar in china! I guess they really DO finally have a middle class!

Good post, Brad. I've been trying to convince folks around here for months that this KLD guy is a taker and a user. He's not interested in being a part of the community here, if you look at his posts not once has he ever offered something back, he only wants information.

Some of you remember walters that trolled the old Ampage forum and others as well. He was amusing and annoying, but KLD is worse, he's trying to bull a Behringer on us, and thinks we're too dumb to realize it.

As far as I'm concerned he's just a commie leech.
                  Stop by my web page!

I have to wonder how many guys right here at home decided they too should make $2500 amplifiers and then came to this very forum to ask a million questions in pursuit of that goal.

China-bashing may be fun, but with a resource like this available, do you expect them to pass it up? Their ultimate consumers right here online telling them what they expect from products.

I wonder what else that company manufactures. It didn;t look to me like three guys in their garage. One then wonders how many degreed engineers today know anything at all about guitar amps right here in the USA. A very small percentage indeed. That they know nothing of this stuff doesn't make them stupid. Engineers who design flat screen HDTVs probably have no idea what a 6L6 might be.

Can't speak for the rest of the world, but Americans seem to think China is in some sort of Disney cartoon. China is NOT 1.3 billion people clunking around in wooden sandals between rice paddies and wearing pointed straw hats. Ah so. There are almost 450 million cell phones in China, we only have 300 million people over here let alone cell phones.

My boss is just back from a business trip to China, and he said he loved it. He brought us back some ICs from an electronics market as ironic keepsakes. (Apparently they don't get the idea of distributors like Mouser and Digikey over there: you buy your FPGAs and Intel Northbridges from a street market.)

I don't have a problem with people asking on this forum for help with commercial designs. But as a qualified EE specializing in design, I refuse to answer them. If someone is going to make money out of my knowledge and experience, I want a cut of it. If they're too tight to pay, they should be prepared to make do with amateur-grade design.

Oh, and my boss said the food was great and everyone looked really healthy. Funny how everyone who leaves Scotland says that, no matter where they go.
