  • what polarity for Pignose adaptor?

I've got a universal adaptor with switchable polarity and voltage that I want to use with my little Pignose portable amp. However, it only says on the amp that it's 9 volts, with no indication of polarity. I don't want to blow it up, so I'm wondering if anybody knows the proper polarity.

I'll email Pignose and ask them too, but I figure they'll probably just tell me to buy their adaptor, so I'm asking here. I've also googled and searched the forum with no answer... any help is appreciated!

    According to the schematics
    here:- http://music-electronics-forum.com/s...ead.php?t=8790
    and :- http://freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3686
Positive goes to the tip and negative is ground - sleeve.
I guess it depends when it was made but its more likely they
would stick to the same arrangement.
To be 100% sure I would trace the positive lead from the battery and see if it goes to the switching contact in the mini jack socket.
The negative side of the battery should go to ground.
Otherwise with the unit running on batteries, measure at the mini jack
between outer sleeve and the tip connection.
That will tell you which way round.
