I took delivery yesterday of a really nice Premier 76 amp. It looks like it was completely refurbished a while ago, NOS tubes, new Eminence speaker, 3 prong cord etc, then put in a garage where the cab suffered some miscellaneous abuse, but it should respond to a careful cleaning. It plays and sounds amazing.
I have searched the web but can't find any info on this precise version.
It has one mic input and three guitar inputs in a a straight line. It has tremolo and has the original footswitch.
However it uses two 6V6 tubes for output with a 5y3. I can only find reference to versions with two 6L6s. It has five preamp tubes and currently has a 12ax7 in the first position and then four 12 au7s.
Does anyone out there know if this is the right configuration?
As I say, it sounds amazing but could it sound better if these tubes are wrong? I would also like a little more range on the tremolo.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
