  • Craigs list scammer ...be advised!

Anyone know a guy that goes by the name of Eric Z on craigs list?

The guy's email address is: les.paul.59.special@gmail.com

His scam is to offer a Schatten winder for a ridiculous price, and then reply that it has sold ....and offer the plans for my winder at $25.

He includes copies of my pictures, right off my web-blog site, and is in NO way representing me or my work, nor does he have "plans" of my winder, this is a scam.... be advised

A friend brought this to my attention this morning (thank you Todd), he even FWD'd me a copies of the guy's email with my pics of my winder attached!. Note that I do not know, nor have EVER been in contact with this guy ErikZ.

I'd appreciate any effort on the part of anyone here in this community to help in squashing this.

I originally posted my pics, and micro-blog, here to HELP others here, to make a winder at the next level from the Lollar offering, I dont like the fact that someone if scamming/profiting off my work/contribution.

PS; Oh yeah, I know there will be the inevitable ..."Welcome to the club" replies, but lets skip past that, this post is a call-out to anyone who can help ID this person and bring public notice to the scam-arse.

    Thank you,
    -Brad (Redhouse)

PSS; I know there are a couple folks here that may not see eye-2-eye with me over things and opinions, but I would hope this kind of thing (craigs list scam) is over-the-top of any of that.

    Hi brad,

It's amazing how low some folks will go.

Bro, you've been a straight up guy here so don't worry about us.

...i can just imagine that it is very frustrating, but my advice is don't sweat it...life is too short.

In the meantime, i will keep an eye and an ear out for that donkey.

There is an organization behind Craigslist, and one can report scams to them. They do react I've heard.

You can also flag listings and they will be pulled.

Sorry to hear that Redhouse. That's the trouble with putting too much info on your website; someone else will steal it or quote it. Perhaps you should put a counter-ad on Craigslist warning people about him.

something sort of similar happened to "John Fisher" (guy with lots of DIY info on his site, some having to do with pickup winding). Some douchebag burned his info onto a CD and was selling them on ebay(no permission, credit, etc.). If memory serves, someone here who lived close to the guy went and had a talk with people at the church the thief attended(yeah I guess he was a "Christian").

besides the craiglist ideas, is there anyway gmail can be notified? Say if someone is using their service for illicit purposes could they be booted?
