Haven't seen anything like this before, looks like its maybe from an archtop or something similar. Made in japan. Any ideas what this is from?

I'm pretty sure it's an old acoustic pickup. The two tabs on the bottom clamp it into the soundhole and the volume and tone controls sit on the top of the body. Not sure who made it... -
Ah yes, that makes perfect sense now, i've only ever seen a couple of acoustic pickups that mount in the soundhole, didn't occur to me.
