I thought I'd try these guys out. The bobbins have a half circle cut out on one end on the bottom of the bobbins. Shipping was fast. They only take credit cards. shipping was $6. color is darker than gibson creme. They don't have everything but their prices arent bad. here's a picture:

I have dealt with them a few times , they seem to be good , fast shipping and quick replies to emails , I think the cream is a real crappy shade personally .

It reminds me of the flesh color they use for making dolls.

Are they doing this just so the bobbins are a little different from everyone else? And yes the color is a wee bit strange.

I think it's so you have more room for the bobbin leads. I think it's ugly, but I probably will use some of them anyway.

I'm going to see if they will fade.

You're going to hate the half-circle cutout. It leaves parts of the coils dangling out in midair. Better hope you don't have a loose wind somewhere...

Holy hell, what color are these bobbins? Baby poo ? Against my better judgement I bought some before this thread started. They will almost certainly never get used.

If my baby filled his nappy with something that colour I would take him to the doc's , It's probably a business decision to make them that shade .

It does when they are a few weeks old! It looks just like mustard.

I think they are all avoiding the wrath of DiMarzio....

HAs anyone really got a letter from Dimarzio asking them to quit?

Carvin doesn't seemed to have gotten one! And they do double cream bobbins.

                          Crappy Color

Worked with injection molding, in industry. Color is a function of
the raw material. If it were a mixture of two different materials, it
comes out spotted. Male operator? Color blind?

If your are a pick digger like me, the pick up may nick the bobben
                          every now and again.

Dimarzio doesn't make a 24 pole humbucker either... I doubt that Dimarzio would even think of touching them for that alone gives Carvin enough difference to fight pretty hard with the argument that regardless of color nobody could mistake a Carvin pickup for a Dimarzio.

That's true. I thought DiMarzio is claiming the double cream thing as theirs though, and except for the pole pieces, Carvin is the only other company doing double cream.
