  • Gibson style braided shielded hookup wire

Anyone know where to get it other than Stew-mac?

I know there are some wire suppliers in the FAQ, but I couldn't tell from their sites who had this stuff.

And not knowing what to call it technically makes it even more difficult. I use the stuff from Mojo. It's a better price than Stew-mac over 100 ft.

      ....

Yeah what is it actually called technically. Did anyone notice the thick stuff on that EVH pickup on Musician's Friend that Eddie signed? Nice fat wire, wonder where that came from?

22 gauge stranded, but I have no idea how to describe the insulation. Waxed cotton? There's probably some really obtuse name for it.

I've seen it listed as Coax braided Cable or just coax cable. I havent tried looking for this but I think thats what it would be called.

Might be called fabric covered or fabric insulated. The varnished fabric was called cambric, if I recall. A picture would be helpful.
