  • help with Vox amp

    Hi again.

Help.......Where can I get schematic for the Vox AD30VT amp?

It makes a very quiet noise from the chassis ( not the speaker) and the tube

    is not coming on.

    Thanks
    Jim

    Here !

The heater supply to the valve is fused internally.
If its the original valve wouldn't hurt to replace.
Could be wrong but I'm sure I've encountered a few
new 12ax7's that seem to draw more heater current than they should!

The noise may be just the transformer laminations.
Make sure its firmly bolted down.
However if the transformer is getting hot while humming/rattleing
something is wrong...drawing too much current somewhere.

If the fuse is gone it won't still be the valve.

      Vox problem solved.

You were right! I changed valve and it lit up good. The old one was looking and acting strange.....pretty dim ... and twice it fired up (briefly) very bright at the bottom of the valve......(silver color). Have never seen that before.

And I don't hear the noise anymore.

I also found I had a bad speaker so I changed that and BINGO.....this amp now sounds very nice and very clear.

      Thanks again for your help.

What about an older Roland CUBE-60 ....there is a low hum when the amp is on, however it plays like new......is this normal " sound " for this amp or can I get it quieter?
