  • who has NOS jacks?

Does anyone have ANY idea where one might find a replacement external speaker jack for an old Ampeg/ SVT?? They used a fancy, heavy duty
Switchcraft 90º dual switching jack. In all my [36] years of servicing, I've never needed to replace one of these before, not to mention the fact that they probably haven't even been made since the 70's.

Vintage Amp Restoration and Fliptops usually have most Ampeg spares in stock.

Well, I surely don;t recall which jack they used. Got a photo?

Meanwhile, Switchcraft still makes things we haven't used in years. Is it one of these?

      Or these?

I know that jack. Maybe there is an equivalent that you could use instead. Is there room for a regular switching jack in there?

I bet you are talking about the 90 degree version of the "long frame" jack.

Any room to put a straight version in there?

          Something like this:

I've got a rt angle switchcraft jack, but i'm pretty sure it only has one switch on it. I'll dig it up tommorow and take a pic

                Aha.

The jack in your photo is a Switchcraft 50 series. Looks like a 55.

They are still listed on the Swcft web site, though when you look them up, the only image it links is to the CN-12A - "jack in a can."

What could go wrong with that? It's built like a brick. You can't just retension it? Is the insulator shot? Are you worried aout the contact plating? That's one sturdy MF.

Looks like a modified SG p-up switch. Shouldn't be hard to replace it as long as there's room for a standard jack. From the pic it looks like a regular single closed switch type. What model amp is it from?

I took this one out of a post war premier 10 sound projector amp.
cool little amp with a 6l6 se amp and a 6l6 P-P amp on a switch.

was two seperate amps with a common front end, why I havent a clue.

just wondering why Mac1amps hasn't replied
