fender sidekick reverb 30

i just bought this amp and i noticed that its not that loud enough just like any guitar amp when i turn the volume knob from 1 to 7 i do not hear anything is it possible the potentio meter any answers would be all appreaciated.thx guitar techs

It may be a defective potentiometer?
