  • Crate VC2010 problem

Hey, I'm new to tube electronics, but I'm interested in learning. My great-grandfather owns a business repairing tube televisions, and is a great source of information for me when it comes to tube electronics, but he sadly knows little about tube amplifiers.

A friend of mine has a Crate VC2010 amplifier that he brought to me, asking if I could fix a little problem it has. For some reason, when it's turned on for some length of time, it smells like something is burning. I don't know what this could be, but if someone could point me in the right direction?

Also, I'm not entirely sure how to get to any of the electronics. I'm a little afraid to go prying this thing open, in case I accidentally break something. If you have any suggestions as to how to get this thing open, that'd be greatly appreciated as well.

I know this is a little odd, a total newbie asking for help with something that by all rights I probably shouldn't even consider attempting, but if you could help me out, I'd really appreciate it.
