  • Gorilla amps: Info on a 10-watter

I bought a Gorilla practice amp at a music store yard sale, and wanted to bring it back to life. Came with an 8" Ross speaker and appears to use a TDA2030 power amp chip, so I'm guessing its in the 10W zone. I could do a reverse engineer, but it seems like an awful lot of work for what is basically a mediocre amp. Help me free up some time by directing me to a schematic for it.

Who distributes them now? Pignose? DUnlop? SOmeone...

I just looked, it is Pignose. COntact them.

Mark, I don;t generally expect to need a schematic on these little things. All those basic practice amps are essentially the same. A TDA2030 or 2040 and one or maybe two op amps. You got signal on the output pins of the op amps or you don;t. The controls are all soldered in well or not, the controls are cracked across their wafers or not. The TDA is bad or not. The jack is screwed or broken, or the traces to it are torn.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
