low volume output, replaced output power transistors. any suggestions?

Isolate the problem. Is it the power amp or the mixer/preamp? You have patch jacks on the front panel. Send the MAIN out to the input of some other amp for a listen. Is the signal there strong or weak?

Plug a good signal into the POWER AMP IN jack. Does that come out the speaker strong or weak?

In fact, now take a spare cord and connect MAIN out to POWER AMP in. SOund come back?

Even when the sound is weak, do all the mixer controls seem to do what they should?
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

If the problem remains in the master section (preamp stage), look for solder rings or cracked solder on the pins on 'Amp In' and 'Graphic In' jacks. Reflow all points as precaution.

If problem persists, verify R24 & R35 resistor values are 1K ohm each.

re:XR600B. I connected the main out to power amp in. It made no difference in the volume output to the speaker. Also how do I measure what the ouput level should be with an input from a sine wave generator?
