  • Embarassing question about tube retainers.

I've owned a '76 marshall jmp superlead for way too long. The tubes on it have the screw on holders. I'm retubing a Peavey classic 30 and the retainers are just wires. My question is do these things just slide on and off the tubes? ist he pressure putting them on too much to just slide them over the tubes? hope this isn't confusing..broke just spent my last dimes on full tubes for it and would hate to bust one..
    Thanks,
    Janus

    Peavey tube retainers

Yeah, the clips just slide on.
These clips have a nasty habit of rattling.
I run a wave generator until I find the frequency that the cab/ speaker vibrate at.
Then I find the rattler(s) & bend the front up to silence it.

I bet if you remove those clips, the C30 will still rattle. It isn;t the clips, it is the tubes.
