Dark Star inspired bass pickup with sound clips

Here's my take on Dark Star inspired bass pickup.
First Dark Star, taped to my bass top with legos under the pickup. 30mm closer to the neck than the other pickup because I couldn't tape it to the same place.

Then my MPUStar

It has 6mm steel poles, laminated core and ceramic magnets instead of alnicos in Dark Star.
Im pleased how much similarities the sounds have. Maybe I'll try to make a sound clip with Dark Star in exact the same position as my pickup to make comparison exact.

That sounds very good Marko. I think the difference in tone is from having the other pickup on top and not being able to play in your usual manner.

Here's pics of second version before winding. I run out of fiber board so this one has glass fiber plates. I'm going to try alnico as well as neo magnets on this one.
