  • Mackie part number lookup...

    I have a Mackie 1202 VLZ3 mixer on the bench with an open transformer. I do not have the service manual so I need to find the Mackie part number. Anyone have a parts list who would be so kind as to look it up for me or post the manual?
    Thanks...

    Number not on it?

    I show 0019653 as power transformer for Rev C00 unit.

      Hi Enzo
      The transformer is stamped 0019658 but that is not a normal Mackie part number, it is a Keen Ocean number, the part maker's number as far as I can tell.
      The owner wants it because she thinking she can find one before her need of the mixer a 3pm today. I told her that I can get one from the US in a month or two, Loud Does not sell parts and the Russian distributor does not allow any parts outside of their one shop in Moscow, which apparently stocks almost nothing, for any of the 47 brands they distribute. Stocking parts might hurt new sales. The little mixer came in its original box and literature, looks like it was never used. I suggested that we could put in a temporary transformer until the original arrived, for her use today but she thinks I am just trying to keep her from getting her mixer back. She brought it to my GF last night at 10 pm, I looked at it when I got home at 11pm and in the mean time she called a 1/2 dozen times by midnight that it was not repaired yet. If she does not need phantom, I have a small transformer that would fit and power the rest of the circuit. The rest of the mixer is fine based on powering it with my lab CVCC power supply which shows total rail current at 24ma per rail and vu full scale.
      My guess is that she has never had anything repaired before and has too little patience for me to want to deal with her.

        Most Mackie part numbers have a longer format, but that is the part number in their official parts list. Compare part number for fuse holder w/IEC: 400-009-00.

        0019658 is also given, but on the page where there are differences listed for 240v and 100v versions. I assumed the 0019653 covered multi-mains, with a picture of the unit showing a voltage switch. However, it could be the 0019653 is a 120v only and the 240/120/100 with switch is the export version 0019658. The descriptions do not make that clear. I should have included both numbers the first time, my apology.

        Transformer for +/-16 and +48 should be easy enough to dummy up.

          Hi Enzo, thanks for the clarification. Yes, this one has the mains selector switch so must be the stocking part number. +/- 15-16 is easy but finding anything here that 1, fits on the cramped space allocated, and 2, has a higher voltage second secondary winding is a no-go here. It is pretty easy to find just about any high current single voltage transformer of local construction but it will be big and of non-standard planform, unshielded etc. Small transformers like this one are limited to Chinese pc mount transformers. I found one with 2 15v windings that fits and is rated at 44ma per winding. If it was mine, I would just mount that pc mount unit in and wire up some sort of doubler for the phantom. Anywhy, she has 3 hours left before her event to find one, get it to me and then get to her event. I suggestion of renting one was rejected. Great...two traits I dislike dealing with, stubborn and dumb! Especially since I was not charging her anything. That is the best part of repair as a hobby, I can pick and choose "customers" who are grateful for the work and for free. A recent band member was in a rush for a performance and I got his guitar amp done in an hour. He offered to pay but I declined so he sent a large bouquet of flowers which probably cost $100. Flowers are a universal gift here for hosts at home dinners, business meetings etc but boxes of candy and some alcohol bottle are also standard gifts non-personal gifts. A nice tradition.

            i'm in the same situation
            any chance to find a transformer that can suit that spec? one is 16 for the mixer, other is 48 for the phantom (i guess)
            let me know

              Out of interest - here's a Mackie/Ampeg general parts list but frustratingly it doesn't tie these in with the equipment model. I've found it useful just to check the validity of a part number, though.
