Yeah I'm not sure either... I don't see anyway there was a bell cover attached to the spkr but the magnet and motor assembly looks big enough to be at least a 30-40 watter... can't really tell much more with out seeing the voice coil diameter.
What Marshall 4x12 cabinet use AlNiCo speakers?

FWIW the Rola speakers sound just fine IMHO. I've had a couple cross my path and had no complaints other than less efficiency than their official "Celestion" counterparts. If they sound good, they ARE good. How many guys have a 4x12 loaded with alnicos!?!

from my research this is a 68' cabinet. (maybe older?) They just seemed pretty weak in the low end dept. so I pulled them. In doing so I yanked out two of the leads from the bottom 2 speakers and ripped them right out of the cone I really don't know how they were even soldered in there from the speaker jack? I just pulled the back off of the cab about 2 inches and busted them right outta there.

The date code says '75 .
The frames are *definitely* american, same as used today by Eminence and earlier by CTS.
The magnet is big, similar to the ones used by *ôriginal* speakers in SVT 8x10", so might even have 2" coils.
Probably not a bad speaker at all, similar to old Jensens, or, worst case, Oxfords.

HMMMM???? Now I'm confused. I will get another pic from the side. I thought all of the SVT stuff was all ceramic?

No, the first ones (late 60's, early 70's were alnico.
Cobalt price went through the roof in '72 or '73 forcing everybody into ceramics.
Some MusicMan cabinets used speakers very much like these well into ´75 or so.
I guess those who had huge stocks continued using them to the end.

                          Yes, alnico.
And those frames, although more widely known because of its use by CTS and Eminence, are stamped with the Rola EIA manufacturer code.
A frame stamper has the dies and presses and supplies anyone he likes.
Weber buys frames made with some old Jensen dies; Jensen Italy has the newer ones.
They are the same, of course, but Weber's have extra holes, today useless, which were used to mount a small generic OT on the frame itself, which indicates they are 40's or 50's vintage at best.
When a speaker factory closes , *somebody* buys the old dies, often for peanuts, and rents them to anybody interested.

So you think a good 20 watts or so?

Those are pretty big magnets and coils compared to any 20 watters I've seen. Bruce is probably right.
