  • Source for Mackie Panasonic faders

    Hi
Anyone where I might be able to purchase these type of faders.
They are 10 60mm travel dual and mono.
I used to order from Digikey, but their site shows these to be obsolete now. WTH??

Is this for the older units with the centre detent? I tried to source them a few years ago and was unsuccessful. I ended up having to get them from Loud. They were not cheap, but they had them.

From the Full Compass site, it appears that the part # might be: 130 031 00
Mackie 130 031 00 Mono Fader for Mackie Mixers, 130-031-00 | Full Compass

They have these Alps ones at RS components but from what I can see the terminals for solder connections are in a different place.

Buy Potentiometers Alps Slide Potentiometer RS60 Series 10 k? ±20 % 0.1 W, Logarithmic, Through Hole Alps RS6011Y1401G online from RS for next day delivery.

Won't European distribution for Loud supply you?

This is supposed to be the South African distibutor for Loud: Mackie - International Distributors
If they won't sell to you, they should be able to tell you a retailer that will.

Most foreign distributors will not sell parts at all, preferring the customer buy a new unit, instead of getting the unit they own, fixed.
The customer will likely be lost forever and will bad mouth the brand for years. The makers just do not realize the foreign market is larger than the US market and sales are poor due to their anti-customer policies

I now have an american adres with a company called "MyUS.com". I can order form the US now. They even consolidate parcels from different sellers for me, and can hold for up to 60Days. Hooray!!!

Have you used them yet? I see that they restrict shipments to Russia so the only option is USPS, which is fine with me since it is cheaper and more reliable than FedEx or DHL which have stopped shipping into Russia this year. I talked to the FedEx manager here and they said they were put under a lot pressure to stop by the US government so they will ship to and from any country except a some countries at war and the US into Russia. I wonder why they did not restrict post office shipments but pressured FedEx not to service Russia.
Are the prices of MyUS.com competitive among other package services? There are lots of companies which are consolidating parcels into fractional containers that makes a lot of sense when shipping larger items, it becomes cheaper then a small parcel. $50 for a Marshall 4x12 cabinet for example. The cheapest USPS service for 5kg in a small 30x30x10cm box would be $99.
It might be worthwhile to save up some money or take a bank loan and buy a bulk lot of parts, $5000-10,000 of the most commonly needed OEM pots, faceplates etc. You could even wholesale to other shops if you wanted. I did that when moving into a larger shop space over a year span it saved a lot of money in not having to order so many small quantities or have to tie up shop space awaiting parts.
