Ebows - Naughty or nice

I have a buddy with a studio, he's also guitarist and backing vocalist in an up and coming band. His other guitarist constantly picks up his 76 Fender Telecaster Deluxe, and he's getting a bit worried if the Ebow that the guy uses with it will damage the original Wide Range Humbuckers.

The EBow generates a very weak field.

I can't see how that would alter the permanent magnets of a pickup.

The EBow doesn't even touch the strings let alone get that close to the pickup.
