  • Leds to light up head like a Christmas tree!

A friend of mine wants his head to be lit up with red leds. The amp is a Ampeg vl series which already has a 6.3v source for a back lit badge. I am putting expanded metal grills front and back and need to figure out how to mount the leds. I will be using 4 ultra bright reds that have a wide angle throw. I don't want to drill holes in the chassis. How about a small project box housing the power supply and leds velcro taped to the top under side of the headshell? I could hot glue the leds at different angles.
Do you guys think this is a good way to light it up without drilling holes in the chassis?

Do you want to illuminate the panel lettering?
    Or the whole cabinet front?
Consider that leds will have to protrude forward and be angled slightly backwards to be able to illuminate a flat surface from the front.

Can you post a front and side view of what you want to do?

A rough sketch will do, just to have an idea of areas and angles involved.

Here is an example of what it's going to look like. Minus the crate badge. It will be just the metal grill, no name.

Only I was going to have the leds on the top. I'm thinking it won't look as cool that way.
