  • tweed deluxe speaker options

I'm building a tweed deluxe I have a jensen field coil speaker in pristine condition. Do field coil speaker sound good or should I go with a permanent magnet? I also have a p10 pm speaker.

    Thanks,
    Jason

They sound good but the amp has to be designed to use them.
The P10 PM is not a very good speaker.

      AFAIK the Deluxe's use a 12" speaker.?.

Bruce Collins (Mission Amps) builds a lot of amps based on the 5E3. I remember him mentioning that the Celestion G12H30 was a good choice for that amp. I know that new Jensen's just don't cu it because they're said to be more top heavy and less graceful with overdrive. I think the Emi Cannabis Rex could be a very good choice for a Deluxe of any make. A little boxy and a tad dark once broken in, but I never met a Deluxe that couldn't get too bright with most speakers.

Well I was building out of scraps an. Junk in shop an had a field coil . Basically getting eperienc3 building junk boxes with what's laying around minus caps.

I do have a 12 pm speaker. But I also think I might want to try field coil an possibly mimic what fluxtone is accomplishing with theirs
        Thanks,
