  • Tube tester question

I have a Sencore Continental II, with a an stock Gm emissions 0-120, Good, Bad meter. Can I change the meter on a continental ii to a micromho readout meter?

You can change it, but a meter is just a readout. To get any meaningful readings calibrated to anything, you'd have to work on the circuitry inside.

In other words, kinda like the oil light on your car dashboard. You could put the word "battery" over the light instead, but that wouldn't change the fact that it lights up with an oil problem.

A quick search may have solved your problem if you can locate the literature described in a snip from the link on the Continental II

It's quite true, if you did audio repairs back then, having a set that tested Mutual Conductance on many tubes, with an available conversion chart to GM/Micromhos was somthing only a few machines could do. Added to the over-the-top GAS / shorts bridge -- it's one heck of a sensitive checker.
