I don't remember any service bulletins for volume changes but there are lots of things that could change gain. Are all the channels changing in gain, just a few or one? Is it abrupt step changes or fading in and out? Is the signal clean at normal level and the only difference when it drops is amplitude? If it is intermittent and involved increased distortion, look for oxidized inserts. It increasing the input level "pops" it back to normal it almost certainly is oxidized inserts. Deoxidize them with DeOxit or other deoxidizer but never use anything labeled Contact Cleaner, they will wash out dirt but make oxidation worse. Oxidized pots, jacks and switches is much more common than dirt causing problems other than heat buildup in electronics.

Doc, thanks for the schematic. Page one, at this end, didn't all fill out though. Some of the lines are dark and some are very light. Looks like it stopped loading before it was done. Page one is the one that will help me. Think I can see what I need but not sure. Anyway, thanks should be able to figure it out. Bob
