  • Fender Deluxe Hot Rod Reverb Squealing

    I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe thats squeals when the drive channel is engaged, has anyone come across this problem before, and could put me in the right direction please.

    Break out your volt meter, set it to read volts ac, place the leads on C36, the preamp decoupling capacitor, & measure the Vac ripple.

    The capacitor is located directly to the rear of the input jacks.

    If the cap is bad, when you strike a note, the signal will continue to 'ride' on the capacitor, instead of being 'decoupled'.
