  • Laney VC30 2x10 trouble

I've got a mid-1990s Laney VC30 (2x10) that was in storage for several years. First time out of storage it powered up and worked intermittently. Since then, it will not power up at all. The LED remains off and there appears to be no power hitting the tubes. I checked the power fuse and HT fuse and they are intact. No fuses blown. That's about the extent of my electrical trouble-shooting ability. Can anyone suggest probable sources for the problem? Thanks in advance.

    Laney VC30 Schematic

The LED is powered by the +15Vdc regulator (page 6)

Try this: hook up your ohmeter leads to the straight blades of the power cord going to the amp.
Set the meter to read low resistance.

With the power switch turned On, you should be reading the power transformer primary winding.
If you get no reading, then that is the first thing to fix.
