  • XR680C - How do I disassemble the front panel?

    Hi everyone,

I have 2 broken controls (Pots) on an old XR680C mixer/amp. One on Channel 2 (monitor volume control) and then also the Main Volume control.

How do I disassemble the front panel to get to the input boards and ultimately be able to replace them?

Also, the inserts for the Mic inputs seem to want to fall out. Is there a trick to keeping them in their position?

    Thank you in advance!

I responded to this at Peavey.

You can order new XLR inserts from Peavey. When they fall out, there is no fixing them, just replace.

Disassemble? Pull the knobs, making a color chart. Pull all the jack nuts, and if any controls have nuts, pull them. If there are any small screws between the rows of knobs, they have to come out. There is no secret, it is just take it apart the way it looks like it wants to.
