EM-Drive Transparent Overdrive Pedal | Emerson Custom
If you're unaware of this, it's a very simple pedal. A friend was very interested in it. I found the schematic (to my chagrin) and we did a test with my BYOC TriBoost. The EM has a pull up bias from collector. The LPB2 section is a properly setup Class A BJT circuit. I shorted the emmitter reisistor and we attenuated the signal with another pedal.
It didn't sound bad. I thought it would be blatty, but it's okay. My friend ended up buying a used EM Drive, and it does in fact blat like I thought it would. Upshot, if someone asks you about it, it's an easy build and better sounding than it should be.
