Can I do it? Traynor Bassmaster YBA-1A with a Weber California 15" 80w 8 ohms?

I found a Traynor Bassmaster YBA-1A for sale for a decent price and am wondering if its 90 watts will overpower the Weber California Ceramic 15" 80 watt speaker. I play various instruments, electric cello, modded guitars etc., and am looking for cleans on the large scale. The only way I can describe what I am looking for is like this: I would rather have a huge quiet sound that a super loud tiny sound....

They may call it a 90W amp, but it's still only a pair of 6CA7's. If your staying clean I don't think you will have a problem.

I agree with g1 and have wondered how they can rate this amp for 90 W unless they are talking full distorted power. Even considering that, it's still a stretch. There is a less common version with 7027a output tubes that are rated at 76 watts with 540v plate and 400v screen according to the data sheets but still they won't provide enough clean power to get 90 W. The schematic doesn't provide voltages so it's hard to know how much power it puts out. What version do you have?

Another thing to consider is that you usually want to have your speaker rated maybe 25% or so higher(give or take some) than your amp's output for a safety factor, so you might want to consider how much extra you want to have. But with the 6CA7 version, you should be fine.
