  • Adding a reverb circuit...

I'd like to add a reverb circuit to my homebrew but space is at a minimum so I can't use tubes to drive or recover the reverb signal. Has anyone found an acceptable solid state driver, recovery circuit for a spring reverb that sounds/works pretty good? I saw such a circuit from Craig Anderton ('Stage Center Reverb') but I'm wondering if there is anything better or more recent.

    Thanks,

    Bob M.

I never felt that the reverb benefitted from tubes the way the actual signal path circuits do.

Look at the reverb in the Peavey Classic 30. Very simple, sounds OK to me. One 4558 op amp IC does both ends.

Blueguitar.org has the drawings if you don't, and of course PV will send them to you as well.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

      Reverb driver/recovery amp

      Thanks, Enzo,

I will check that out. Has anyone built and incorporated a solid state reverb into their amps? How did this turn out? I'd love to hear what circuits to try and which ones to avoid.

      Thanks,

      Bob M.
