Whats needed to run mics into guitar amp ?

My friend wants to run his mic'd up accordions thru a guitar amp , does he need Z matching , level matching ; eq-ing ? They are lo Z dynamic mics , it seems he gets less howling if going thru a mixer 1st but we want the simplest system . What does a mic think when it sees a 1Mohm input ?

The low impedance mic has a very low output voltage and the Shure A95U tansformer will boost the output voltage about 12 times and allow you to plug the transformer directly into the 1M ohm amp input. Make sure that your mic output connector matches input connector on the transformer you choose to use. Your local Radio Shack may even have something that will work that looks like the Shure transformer. This is the simplest solution to your problem.

I guess you want to use what you already have on hand- but a keyboard amp (which has wider, flatter frequency response than a guitar amp) would sound better. And some have an XLR mic input. They cost about the same as guitar amps. Here's one for $199.
