  • Anyone replace a DSL100 board?

Got one of these with the bad/conductive old style board.

Owners are going on tour next week so instead of trying to fix the leaky board I just ordered a replacement from
    AES.

Anything have to be done or changed or is it just pop in new one and it's good to go?

Want to get any background stuff ready to expedite the amps return.

Yes. After installing it you have to make a bias adjustment (it may be different from the original one). I do not remember if in the TSL or DSL (I installed both) you can find some more connector in the new PCB that is not used. It is convenient to make a sketch of the connectors previously.

      Bias, of course.
Needs new output tubes anyway as it killed a couple.

They're supplied unfused so you need to transfer your fuses Also, while the board is out remove the bias board and inspect it closely. Re-solder any dodgy connections. They often fail on the pot legs so I go over these anyhow. Otherwise it's a quick job. If you're in any doubt mark each connector before you pull the old board with a piece of masking tape to make sure it get plugged in the right place.

          Cool thanks
I always re-work the bias pot board.

The connectors are probably ingrained in my brain from working on these, but it's always good to mark them to be sure!

            Oh, stand offs.
Don't forget to remove stand offs from old board and mount on new one prior to installation.

Did it up last night and it's working great again.
