Marshall jcm 900 high gain dual reverb

hELLO When i play through my marshall jcm 900 sometimes the volune goes real low then real high all by itself then after a bit it stays real low what is the problem ? If any one knows please let me know thanks in advance

It could be any number of things. Try jumpering the effects loop with a short cable first to see if it's just a problem with switching jacks.
