  • Will a red knob Twin reverb work without footswitch

I have been troubleshooting why the reverb doesn't work, when the return circuit works and the send is sending and the in/outs measure 1.2/212 ohms. Then it occurs to me maybe the footswitch is needed?
It's weird, because it WAS working fine.....

    No. It should sound directly.
Raise the reverb adjustment to one third and rub the springs with your hand. If it sounds, the problem is not in the return.

Well it has a broken reverb pot, so I will start there. Can anyone help me out with a Fender part number? I just found out the D shafts are oriented upside down so the pointer is inverted on the replacement I got for the Volume control, so I had to use a different knob. I'd like to avoid that on this one if I can.

And Fender's replacement knobs are inverted from existing D shafts. Vexing to say the least. Grrrrr......
This isn't the future I signed up for.

Fender made the red knobs in both directions, precisely so they could mount the inverted circuit board and have all the knobs pointing the right way. I used to stock both.

But, if you can find a suitable but upside down pot, answer this: Are these the 16mm pots with the little brackets on the side for support? If so, those are held together by the folded tabs on the rear cover. The bracket is held onto the pot body by the tabs. You might be able to bend up the tabs, pull off the bracket, and put it back on upside down. Now the legs point away from the board, but three short wires to the board fix that.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

No, if the footswitch jack socket's normally closed switch is open.
